Many people use New Year’s as a time to make promises to themselves or others that only become stressors before they are forgotten all together. When making a resolution, be sure it is something you really want to accomplish. Write it down and place it on a mirror or some other place you are certain to see it daily. Remember that the habit you may be trying to break has a head start on you. It takes thirty days to form a habit, but a lot longer to break one. One help in breaking a habit is to have some other one in mind as a replacement. Choose something realistic that will enhance your life in some desirable way. Allow yourself the patience to have whatever this is. The biggest secret of all is to keep it secret from people who do not share your ambition and will use this as a means to tease and ridicule you. Find a group of like-minded people for encouragement and reinforcement of your commitment.
As for the domino, the goal is to remain upright in thought, word, and deed. In other words to be true to oneself. When acting from a basis of truth, a domino can do anything.
Best wishes for a happy, healthy, loving and prosperous 2013!
