When one falls, smile; when they all fall, laugh!

Damaged Dominoes

Once anyone has encountered an abuser, the thought processes change. Previous self doubts become substantiated facts in one’s mind. The betrayal of a mentor causes suspicion of anyone trying to help or to be kind. Ulterior motives and suspicion hover in the air like so many evil spirits. The domino retreats to the box like an animal in a den emerging only when necessary. Without self worth, there is no personal power.

Be kind to the people you encounter who get in your way, or act “stupidly” or whatever else might tick you off. You don’t know what they have gone through or how they feel about themselves. Bad temper just highlights all of that and supports it. Kindness and patience cost nothing, but they are valuable.
