“I sing the body electric” is the opening line of Walt Whitman’s LEAVES OF GRASS. In a similar vein, I sing the body domino. An electrical impulse fires an idea which travels from the brain down the spine, across the shoulders and down the arms to the fingers on the keypad of a laptop. There the impulse is translated from keystrokes into letters to form words and finally a sentence. This sparks yet another concept which follows the same path to the computer screen. In a matter of seconds, these impulses have fallen into an organized pile and a paragraph is formed. It is the introduction to a commentary or a story which will inform or entertain or both. A single spark of creativity gives expression to an individual who bonds with another and eventually a group, a community, and so a nation and a world is born. We all stand by the power of an intelligence greater than ourselves and then given the tiniest push to make something of ourselves more impressive and powerful than any single one of us.
